Giltuss HC Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. this combination med is used to treat a cough & relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Giltuss HC: this medication is best taken with, or after, a meal or snack. Take this pill as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed.
Giltuss HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur first several days as your body adjusts to drug. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're physician. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit some your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Giltuss HC Precautions: Tell youre doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, a history about medication dependency, any allergies. Giltuss HC drug interactions: Tell some your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure meds, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Giltuss HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Giltuss HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Giltuss HC dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Giltuss HC Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
