Hydrocortisone Usage: this drug is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, allergies and other irritations.
How to use Hydrocortisone: Clean & dry affected area before applying drug. To apply, gently massage a very small amount of the med in to affected region & surrounding skin. do not bandage, wrap or cover the area treated unless you are instructed to do so by youre healthcare professional. do not use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on children being treated with this med in diaper area. Avoid using this drug around eyes unless directed to do so by you're healthcare professional.
Hydrocortisone side effects: this medication may cause burning, stinging, itching, or redness when first applied to the skin. this should disappear in few days as your body adjusts to medication. this drug may also cause skin thinning and discoloration. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform youre doctor. Skin infections can become worse when using this medication. Notify youre doctor if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly the following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Hydrocortisone Precautions: do not use it medication near the eyes if you have glaucoma. Treatment with clobetasol, halobetasol propionate & augmented betamethasone dipropionate beyond two weeks consecutively is not recommended. do not use if there is an infection or sores present on the area to be treated. Though very unlikely, this is possible it medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. this may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. this is especially true for children & for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist for more details. this medication should be used cautiously during pregnancy and only if clearly needed. Discuss the benefits and risks with your doctor. Small amounts of it medication may appear in breast milk. Consult with your physician before breast-feeding.
Hydrocortisone drug interactions: Tell you're doctor of all pills you may use, (both prescription & nonprescription), especially about: prednisone (or similar drugs), other skin medicines. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Hydrocortisone Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Hydrocortisone special notes: Inform every your pharmacists you use (or have used) this pill. do not share this medication with others.
If you missed Hydrocortisone dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time since the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Hydrocortisone Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
Medical alert: your condition can cause complications in medical emergency.
