Cold Allergy DM Usage: Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose & throat and itchy, watery eyes. this combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Cold Allergy DM: Take this tablet as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased. liquid suspension form of this med should be shaken well before using.
Cold Allergy DM side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur 1st some days as your body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're pharmacist. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify youre pharmacist if you develop any about the following effects while using it med: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Cold Allergy DM Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, any allergies. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your physician promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your pharmacist. since small amounts about it medication found in breast milk, consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Cold Allergy DM med interactions: Tell you're doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: blood pressure medication, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), narcotic pain meds (e.g., codeine). Limit some your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this pill. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or healthcare professional approval.
Cold Allergy DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, loss of coordination, slow or shallow breathing, sweating, dizziness, headache, hyperactivity, bizarre behavior, seizures, slow or fast heartbeat, or unconsciousness.
Cold Allergy DM special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Cold Allergy DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Cold Allergy DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
