Pediahist DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Antitussives are cough suppressants used to relieve dry, hacking cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and throat & itchy, watery eyes. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Pediahist DM: Take this med as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this med is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.
Pediahist DM side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur 1st several days as your body adjusts to med. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify you're pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or physician.
Pediahist DM Precautions: Tell you're physician if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), hypertension, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, allergies (especially drug allergies). dollars this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your physician promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. for small amounts of this medication are found at breast milk, consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Pediahist DM medication interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you use, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.
Pediahist DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, abnormal tongue or eye movement, slurred speech, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, slow or shallow breathing, change in amount of urine, unconsciousness, hallucination, sleeplessness, itching, or seizures.
Pediahist DM special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Pediahist DM dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Pediahist DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. don't store in the bathroom.
