Nitrogard Usage: it medication relaxes blood vessels. Its used to prevent chest pain (angina).
How to use Nitrogard: this is transmucosal (buccal) tablet designed to slowly dissolve in mouth. do not chew or swallow this. Place the tablet in your mouth under upper lip or between cheek and gum. it will dissolve & be absorbed into your body over a 3-5 hour period. Use this exactly as prescribed. do not use this more much times, increase your dose or stop using this without consulting your physician. You can use pill 5 to 10 minutes before an event that causes chest pain. do not swallow pill. Use new pill if you accidentally swallow the first. pill will dissolve faster if touched with tongue or if you drink a hot liquid. Try to avoid this. do not take at bedtime.
Nitrogard side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat or restlessness may occur as your body adjusts to med. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To prevent dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify your pharmacist if you experience: blurred vision, dry mouth, skin rash, nausea. Headache is often a sign the medication is working. Treat headaches with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by your doctor. If headaches continue or become severe, notify your healthcare professional. in the unlikely chapter you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Nitrogard Precautions: Before using this medication tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: heart problems, head injury or surgery, glaucoma, thyroid conditions, anemia, alcohol usage, drug allergies. Use caution engaging in activities that require alertness or in operating machinery if this medication makes you dizzy or drowsy. Alcoholic beverages may increase the risk about fainting or of experiencing dizziness. it drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss risks & benefits with you're pharmacist. this isn't known if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.
Nitrogard med interactions: Tell your physician about any over-the-counter products to treat cold that contain decongestants or prescription drug you may take including: aspirin, blood thinners, blood pressure medication, heart tablet, sildenafil. Avoid intake of alcohol while taking it medication since severe dizziness or drowsiness may occur. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Nitrogard Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include a persistent, throbbing headache; dizziness; confusion; weakness; sweating; changes at heart rate; changes in vision; flushing; nausea; & vomiting.
Nitrogard special notes: few persons may develop tolerance to effects of this med over time. it is less likely to occur with the transmucosal meds then with other dose forms about this drug. Notify your doctor if the tablet appears to be losing this effectiveness or if chest pain continues while taking this.
If you missed Nitrogard dose: Try to take each dose as prescribed. If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near the clock for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Nitrogard Storage: Store this med tightly closed in It's original container at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat, light & moisture. do not store in bathroom. Keep this and all drugs out of reach about children.
