Dulcolax Usage: this drug is stimulant laxative. it acts by irritating digestive tract & stimulates intestinal activity. it is used to treat constipation or to clean out the intestinal tract before bowel examinations or bowel surgery.
How to use Dulcolax: To use the suppository, unwrap it & moisten it slightly in lukewarm water. Lie on your left side with the right knee slightly bent. Insert the suppository into the rectum with your finger. If possible, avoid a bowel movement for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the med to work.
Dulcolax side effects: it med may cause stomach ache, cramping, weakness, sweating, irritation about the rectal area, diarrhea, or dizziness. Notify your doctor if you experience: chest pain, fainting, rectal bleeding, lack of bowel movements. Frequent use of laxatives can cause dehydration & loss of essential nutrients. Symptoms include muscle cramps, muscle weakness or dizziness. Maintain an adequate fluid intake while using this drug. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Dulcolax Precautions: do not use bisacodyl without consulting your doctor if you have: severe nausea, vomiting, gastritis, other stomach or intestinal problems, recent abdominal surgery, rectal bleeding, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, appendicitis, allergy to bisacodyl. If patient is under six years of age, consult child's doctor before using it drug. Before using bisacodyl, tell youre doctor if you pregnant. It's not known if bisacodyl passes into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist if you are breast-feeding.
Dulcolax tablet interactions: Tell youre physician of all prescription & nonprescription pill you may use. do not stop or start any medicine without pharmacist or doctor approval.
Dulcolax Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. If you or someone you know may have taken it medicine by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Dulcolax special notes: Laxatives should only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence. To prevent constipation: drink 4 to 6 glasses of water per day, include bulk or roughage in youre diet, & exercise regularly.
If you missed Dulcolax dose: If you miss dose, skip the missed dose. don't double dose.
Dulcolax Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. don't store in bathroom.
