Warning: this drug has caused kidney problems, nerve damage or permanent hearing loss, even at usual doses. Hearing loss can occur even after drug is stopped. If you already have kidney problems or hearing difficulty, tell you're pharmacist. Notify your physician immediately if any of next occur: ringing in some your ears, hearing loss, unusual change in amount of urine, dizziness, numbness, skin tingling, muscle twitching or seizures. this tablet may be stopped if you develop kidney or hearing problems. you're healthcare professional will monitor your progress to minimize possibility of these effects occurring and may run certain tests (e.g., hearing and/or kidney tests). do not use it medication with other medications that can cause nerve, kidney or hearing problems. other factors that increase the risk about these side effects occurring include advanced age or dehydration (unusual thirst).

Amikin Pediatric Usage: it med is an antibiotic used to treat wide variety of serious bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, skin infections, urinary tract infections, & infections of blood, abdomen or bones. this drug must be given by injection since It's poorly absorbed if taken by mouth.
How to use Amikin Pediatric: this medication is given by injection. it may be injected into large muscle such as buttocks or infused into vein over 30 minutes to one hour. It's usually given two or 5 times day for 7 to 10 days. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do this by using medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night as prescribed. Continue using it for the full time prescribed. Stopping drug too soon may result in ineffective treatment.
Amikin Pediatric side effects: it medication can cause nausea, vomiting or weakness as your body adjusts to the pill. If these effects continue or become severe, inform your physician. this medication can cause hearing loss or kidney damage especially if used in high doses or for prolonged periods about clock. it is important proper dose be used. site where injection is given may be red & irritated for few days. Notify your healthcare professional if the irritation continues or becomes worse. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop: dizziness, ringing in ears, hearing loss, skin rash, difficulty breathing, difficult or painful urination, muscle twitching. Amikin Pediatric Precautions: Before using this, tell some your pharmacist if you have: kidney disease, hearing disorders, muscle disorders, allergies (especially to antibiotics). Amikacin isn't recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your pharmacist before using this drug. Small amounts of this drug have been detected in breast milk. Consult some your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Amikin Pediatric tablet interactions: Tell your doctor of any nonprescription or prescription tablet you use, especially of: cephalosporins, penicillins, certain diuretics or 'water pills' (loop diuretics), neuromuscular blockers (e.g., halothane). do not start or stop any medicine without physician or healthcare professional approval.
Amikin Pediatric Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include change in amount of urine, difficulty breathing, dizziness, ringing in ear, or lightheadedness.
Amikin Pediatric special notes: Laboratory tests and blood counts will be done routinely while using this to monitor It's effects & prevent side effects.
If you missed Amikin Pediatric dose: Try to use each dose as scheduled. If you miss dose, contact your health care provider who will help establish new dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Amikin Pediatric Storage: Vials should be stored at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from sunlight. Infusion bags may be refrigerated as directed. Allow frozen IV bag to thaw and warm to room temperature before using. Allow the refrigerated IV bag to sit at room temperature for one hour before using. check expiration date on label & properly discard of any unused med after that time. Infusion bags can be stored for 24 hours in room temperature, for 60 days at 39 degrees F (4 degrees C) or frozen for 30 days at 5 degrees F (-15 degrees C). These solutions will retain potency for 24 hours at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). do not use if solution is dark in color.
