Pyrethrins & piperonyl butoxide-shampoo
(pie-reth-rins with pip-er-oh-nill)
common brand names: Medi-Lice, Pronto, R & C, Tegrin LF
Pronto Usage: this drug is used to treat current & active lice infestations. Its not used to prevent future lice infestations.
How to use Pronto: Review manufacturer's instruction sheet with you're doctor or doctor & follow every directions carefully for your product. all household members and/or those in close contact with you should be checked for infestation & treated if infected. this medication is for external use only. Avoid applying drug to eyes, nose, mouth & vagina. do not use on eyelashes or eyebrows. USD with MD if these areas infested. do not use more medication than is recommended. Apply in well-ventilated area. Apply to hair & scalp one time, thoroughly covering the affected area. Use a little of water & work shampoo in to hair & scalp to form a lather. Leave on for about 10 minutes unless directed otherwise by some your pharmacist. Rinse & dry with clean towel. Use nit removal comb as directed. Wash hands immediately after use. Repeat application once seven to ten days later to kill any newly hatched lice. Be sure to follow instructions on proper machine washing about clothing, bedding, etc., special house cleaning, plus comb & wig/hairpiece cleaning.
Pronto side effects: Unlikely but report: skin rash, sneezing/stuffy nose, trouble breathing, skin infection or irritation not present before starting it medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Pronto Precautions: Before using it drug, tell your pharmacist some your medical history, including: any allergies (especially drug, ragweed and chrysanthemum plants, or kerosene allergy), skin problems. this drug is harmful if swallowed or inhaled. it drug must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre doctor. Its not known whether it drug is excreted into human milk. Consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.
Pronto drug interactions: Tell your doctor of all nonprescription or prescription medication you may use. don't start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.
Pronto Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, unusual drowsiness or dizziness, headache, coughing, & difficulty breathing. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed or inhaled. If you or someone you know may have ingested or inhaled this medicine, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

If you missed Pronto dose: If you miss dose, consult your physician or pharmacist.
Pronto Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Keep container tightly closed. don't freeze.
