Capsaicin Usage: it medication is used on the skin to relieve pain in conditions such as arthritis, shingles, psoriasis or diabetic neuropathy.
How to use Capsaicin: this tablet is for topical use only. Clean and dry affected area as directed. then apply small amount of medication on skin & rub in gently. Use of gloves or an applicator is recommended. Cover with loose bandage if directed to do so. Wash hands after use. don't use large amounts, apply it more often or use this for longer then directed. your condition will not clear faster, but chance for side effects may be increased. Use carefully if applying to face. Avoid contact with the eyes. Avoid applying this to broken or irritated skin.
Capsaicin side effects: this drug may cause burning when first applied. Stinging, redness or cough have been reported. Notify youre pharmacist if any about these symptoms continue or become bothersome. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Capsaicin Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions, such as: illness, any allergies. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre doctor. It's not known if this drug is found in breast milk. Consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.
Capsaicin drug interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take including any skin products. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Capsaicin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Capsaicin special notes: If the condition for which it was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after two weeks, notify you're pharmacist.
If you missed Capsaicin dose: If you miss dose, apply it as soon as remembered; don't apply this if it is near time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Capsaicin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat. check expiration date on the tube and discard any expired med.
