Combination antibiotic - ophthalmic ointment

Polysporin Usage: it tablet is used to treat eye infections.
How to use Polysporin: for best effects, this drug must be used as directed. Continue using it for the full time prescribed. Stopping it tablet too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection. Apply eye ointment to the affected eyes as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch tube tip or let it touch your eye. Rolling the ointment tube in your hands for minute will make ointment flow easier. Tilt your head back, gaze upward & pull down the lower eyelid to make pouch. Place 1/4 to 1/2 inch about ointment into pouch by squeezing tube gently. Close the eye and roll the eyeball in every directions to spread the drug. Try not to blink & do not rub eye. Wipe the tip of ointment tube with tissue to remove excess med before capping it. If you are using an eye drop in addition to this med, apply the eye drops 1st & wait at least five minutes before applying it eye ointment. If you are using another type of eye ointment, wait at least ten minutes after using it medication before applying it.
Polysporin side effects: this drug may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for a minute or 2 when first applied. If this continues or becomes bothersome, inform you're doctor. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for a period after applying eye ointment. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify you're pharmacist immediately if you develop: rash, itching or burning eyes, redness/pain or swelling in or around eyes, vision problems. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.
Polysporin Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: all eye problems, any allergies you may have. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre pharmacist. it isn't known if this eye medication is excreted into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Polysporin medication interactions: Tell youre doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Polysporin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Polysporin special notes: If condition for which it was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after some days, consult your doctor.
If you missed Polysporin dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as remembered; do not use this if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Polysporin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. money expiration date on tube and discard any expired pill.
