    Ibuprofen suspension - oral

    Children's Motrin Usage: Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID), which relieves pain & swelling (inflammation). It's used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, arthritis, or athletic injuries. this medication is also used to reduce fever and to relieve minor aches and pain due to the common cold or flu. it drug works by blocking enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, and fever. do not give this pill to child younger than two years of age unless directed to do so by the doctor.

    How to use Children's Motrin: Shake bottle well before each dose. Measure out each dose carefully & take this med by mouth with a full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless youre physician directs you otherwise. do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking this drug. If stomach upset occurs while taking this drug, take it with food, milk, or an antacid. dosage is based on youre medical condition & response to therapy. in children, the dosage is also based on weight. Read product instructions to find appropriate dose for your child's weight, or consult the physician or pharmacist if you have questions. If repeat doses are needed, they usually given 6 or 8 hours apart; or as directed by the physician. in certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), it may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before full benefits of this medication take effect. If you use this drug for migraine headache, & pain isnt relieved or worsens after the first dose, tell you're physician immediately. If you are treating yourself or giving this medication to child since undiagnosed fever or pain, consult physician immediately if symptoms do not improve within 24 hours, worsen or last for more than 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.

    Children's Motrin side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, & dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify some your healthcare professional or pharmacist promptly. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling of the hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing in the ears (tinnitus). Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, simple bruising or bleeding. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change at amount of urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this medication may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from stomach or intestines. If you notice any about the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen & consult your doctor or healthcare professional immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks love coffee grounds. this drug may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any of following highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen and consult your doctor or physician immediately: yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to it drug is unlikely, but seek immeditial healthcare attention if this occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Children's Motrin Precautions: it pill should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult you're doctor or pharmacist if you have: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Before using this tablet, tell your pharmacist or pharmacist some your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, poorly controlled diabetes, stomach problems (e.g., bleeding, ulcers), heart disease (e.g., congestive heart failure), HBP, swelling (edema, fluid retention), dehydration, blood disorders (e.g., anemia), bleeding or clotting problems, asthma, growths in nose (nasal polyps), history of an allergic reaction with symptoms about lip/tongue/throat swelling (angioedema), any allergies in addition to those listed above. this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. it medicine may cause stomach bleeding. per day use of alcohol and tobacco, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase some your risk since stomach bleeding. Consult your doctor or doctor since more information. it medication may make you more sensitive to sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use sunscreen & wear protective clothing when outdoors. this product can contain sugar. Caution is advised if you have diabetes. Ask your doctor or physician about the safe use of this product. Caution is advised when using it tablet in elderly because they may be more sensitive to the side effects of the med, especially stomach bleeding & kidney effects. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during the first 6 months of pregnancy. this isnot recommended for use during last 3 months of pregnancy due to the potential for serious harm & interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre pharmacist. this medication passes into breast milk. While there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

    Children's Motrin drug interactions: Before using this medication, tell your healthcare professional or pharmacist of every prescription and nonprescription products you may use, especially of: alendronate, other meds for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, high blood pressure tablets (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, and beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). cash all prescription & nonprescription medicine labels carefully since many contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which are similar to this drug. If you are also taking aspirin, as prescribed by your doctor for reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually these dosages 81-325 mg per day), continue to take aspirin and consult youre physician or healthcare professional before using ibuprofen. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.

    Children's Motrin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.

    Children's Motrin special notes: don't share this medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed periodically to monitor your progress or check for side effects. Consult your physician for more details.

    If you missed Children's Motrin dose: If you prescribed this medication on a regular schedule (not just 'as needed') & you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If this is near the time of following dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.

    Children's Motrin Storage: Store at room temperature according to product directions away from light & moisture. don't store at bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children & pets.
