Hydrocort Usage: it medication is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, allergies & another irritations.
How to use Hydrocort: Clean and dry affected region before applying the drug. To apply, gently massage small amount of drug in to affected region & surrounding skin. do not bandage, wrap or cover the area treated unless you instructed to do so by your doctor. do not use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on children being treated with it drug in diaper region. Avoid using it drug around the eyes unless directed to do so by your physician.
Hydrocort side effects: it medication can cause burning, stinging, itching, or redness when 1st applied to skin. this should disappear in some days as you're body adjusts to pill. it drug may also cause skin thinning & discoloration. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform you're healthcare professional. Skin infections can become worse when using this drug. Notify your healthcare professional if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly the following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Hydrocort Precautions: do not use this medication near eyes if you have glaucoma. Treatment with clobetasol, halobetasol propionate and augmented betamethasone dipropionate beyond two weeks consecutively isnt recommended. do not use if there is an infection or sores present on area to be treated. Though very unlikely, It's possible this drug will be absorbed into your bloodstream. this may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. this is especially true for children & for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your healthcare professional or physician for more details. this drug should be used cautiously during pregnancy and only if clearly needed. Discuss benefits and risks with you're doctor. Small amounts of it medication may appear in breast milk. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.
Hydrocort med interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of all medications you may use, (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: prednisone (or similar drugs), another skin medicines. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Hydrocort Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Hydrocort special notes: Inform all your physicians you use (or have used) this pill. don't share this medication with others.
If you missed Hydrocort dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Hydrocort Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
Medical alert: you're condition can cause complications at medical emergency.
