Remodulin Usage: this drug is used to treat type of high blood pressure at lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension). it works by causing the blood vessels (arteries) in lungs to relax & expand, thus decreasing the pressure.
How to use Remodulin: Inject this med directly into skin (subcutaneous, SQ) continuously, using an infusion pump, or use as directed by your pharmacist. it drug must be started in hospital/clinic. don't suddenly decrease the dose or stop using it medication, unless directed to do so by youre doctor. Stopping this drug, even briefly, may lead to serious side effects (see Side Effects section). To avoid interruptions in drug treatment, you must have access to a backup infusion pump and infusion sets should youre equipment fail. Consult your pharmacist or physician for more information. Depending on you're condition, you may be given other medications to help prevent blood clots (embolism). Take all prescribed drug exactly as directed. Learn all preparation and usage instructions, including how to prepare and administer this tablet and how to care for injection site & avoid infection. Learn how to store and discard needles & medical supplies safely. If any of info about the use of this medication is unclear, consult youre physician or healthcare professional. Before using, dollars this product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use liquid.
Remodulin side effects: Nausea, headache, dizziness, jaw pain, diarrhea, flushing, joint/muscle aches, sweating, or redness/swelling/pain at the injection site may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: swelling of face/legs, stomach pain. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: chest pain, unusual fatigue or weakness, fast/slow/irregular heartbeat, mental/mood changes, changes in appearance of the skin (e.g., unusual paleness or blue/grey color), enlarged abdomen, unexplained weight gain. An allergic reaction to it drug is unlikely, but seek immediate doctor attention if this occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. do not suddenly stop using this medication or decrease dose unless directed to do so by your healthcare professional. Serious effects such as trouble breathing, dizziness, or weakness may occur, which rarely may lead to fatal, if this medication is suddenly stopped or interrupted even briefly. Contact your physician or doctor immediately if some your dose is interrupted or if you develop these side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or doctor.
Remodulin Precautions: Tell your doctor some your medical history, especially about: liver problems, bleeding problems, any allergies. this drug may make you dizzy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or operating machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages as they may intensify the dizziness effect of this pill. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your healthcare professional. it is not known whether this drug passes in to breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Remodulin drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of every prescription & nonprescription drug you may use, especially: 'water pills' (e.g., furosemide, torsemide), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin, heparins), blood pressure medication (e.g., captopril, lisinopril, nifedipine), vasodilators (e.g., hydralazine, nitrates), digoxin. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Remodulin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include: severe dizziness, fainting.
Remodulin special notes: do not share this drug with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, heart function) will be performed to monitor your progress & response to it drug.
If you missed Remodulin dose: this drug is to be given continuously into the skin. If your dose is interrupted, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist immediately to establish new dosing.
Remodulin Storage: Store unopened vials at room temperature between 59 & 77 degrees F (15 to 25 degrees C) away from light & moisture. Brief storage in 59 to 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) is permitted. do not freeze. Consult youre pharmacist for details regarding the stability of medication after the vial has been opened.
