Nalex Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. this combination medication is used to treat cough and relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Nalex: this drug is best taken with, or after, meal or snack. Take this tablet as prescribed. don't increase your dose or take this more often then directed.
Nalex side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur the 1st few days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre doctor. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify you're doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or healthcare professional.
Nalex Precautions: Tell some your physician if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, hypertension, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of medication dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult youre pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your physician. at least one of the ingredients in this combination product is known to be excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Nalex drug interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure medications, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Nalex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Nalex special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Nalex dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Nalex Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store at the bathroom.
