    Decongestant/antihistamine/anticholinergic - oral

    D a Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and throat & itchy, watery eyes. Anticholinergics have drying effect on mucous secretions. this combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.

    How to use D: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed. this medication is best taken with a full glass of water after a meal or snack. Long-acting tablets & capsules should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them or the long action may be destroyed and chance of side effects increased.

    D a side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, blurred vision, constipation or dry mouth, nose & eyes may occur 1-st few days as youre body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.

    D Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, any allergies. money it product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your healthcare professional promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain it product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with you're physician. since small amounts of it drug found in breast milk, consult you're physician before breast-feeding.

    D a drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: drug for blood pressure, medication for depression such as MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline). Tell your doctor if you take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines or tricyclics), anti- seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants. Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    D Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, headache, weakness, disorientation, hyperactivity, restlessness, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, fast breathing, fever, hot dry and flushed skin, seizures, or coma.

    D special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

    If you missed D dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    D a Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
