Combination antibiotic and steroid - ophthalmic drops
Poly Pred Usage: this drug is used to treat or prevent eye infections.
How to use Poly Pred: for best effects, it drug must be used routinely as directed. Continue using it for the full clock prescribed. Stopping this drug too soon may not clear infection & could possibly result in a reinfection. To apply eye drops, wash hands 1'st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or let it touch your eye. Shake the eye drops well before using. Tilt your head back, gaze upward & pull down lower eyelid to make pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer prescribed number of drops. watch downward & gently close your eye for 1 to two minutes. Place one finger at corner of eye near the nose & apply gentle pressure. this will prevent medication from draining away from the eye. Try not to blink & don't rub eye. do not rinse dropper. If you are using other kind of eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying other meds.
Poly Pred side effects: it medication may temporarily sting your eyes for minute or two when you 1-st use it. If stinging persists or becomes bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Vision may be temporarily blurred. Notify your physician if you develop: a skin rash, itching/red- ness/swelling in or around eyes, vision problems. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Poly Pred Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: another eye problems, contact lens use, allergies (especially drug allergies). Because vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable after this medication is applied, use caution driving or using machinery. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with youre healthcare professional. it isn't known if this med passes into breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Poly Pred drug interactions: Tell your doctor about all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: other eye drugs.
Poly Pred Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Poly Pred special notes: don't share this medication with others.
If you missed Poly Pred dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as remembered; do not use this if it is near the clock for following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Poly Pred Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing. Discard medicine if the solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
