Isopto Atropine Usage: this medication relaxes muscles in the eye, which causes the pupil to widen (dilate). Its used to treat inflammation of certain parts about eye (uveal tract). It's also used for certain eye exams.
How to use Isopto Atropine: To apply eye drops, 1-st wash you're hands. Be careful not to touch the dropper or let this touch your eye or any other surface. Tilt you're head back, gaze upward & pull down lower eyelid to make pouch. Place dropper directly over the eye and administer the prescribed number of drops. look downward and gently close you're eye for 1 or 2 minutes. Apply gentle pressure to corner of the eye to keep medicine in & to minimize possibilty of the medication being absorbed by your body. Try not to blink & do not rub the eye. do not rinse the dropper. If more than one type of eye medicine is to be used, wait at least three minutes before using other eye medications. do not use eye drops that have changed color.
Isopto Atropine side effects: this medication can cause temporary drowsiness or blurred vision. Headache, temporary burning or stinging may occur in 1st. These effects should disappear as your body adjusts to this drug. If they persist or worsen, inform you're healthcare professional. this drug may cause you're eyes to be sensitive to bright light. Wear sunglasses if needed. Unlikely but report changes in vision, eye pain, trembling, rapid heartbeat, fever, dizziness or difficult urination. in unlikely episode you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble or discharge from eyes. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Isopto Atropine Precautions: Tell youre doctor youre medical history, especially: glaucoma (narrow angle), another eye problems, Down's syndrome, any allergies. do not wear soft contact lenses while using this drug because the lenses may discolor. Use caution when driving or performing tasks requiring alertness. Use caution when using this drug in child because kid may be more sensitive to drug side effects. this drug must be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre healthcare professional. Its not known if atropine eye medicine is excreted into breast milk. Consult you're pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Isopto Atropine med interactions: Before using this medicine, tell your healthcare professional of all pills you use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially about: other eye preparations. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Isopto Atropine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Isopto Atropine special notes: don't allow others to use it medication.
If you missed Isopto Atropine dose: If you miss dose, apply as soon as remembered; do not use if Its almost clock for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Isopto Atropine Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in the bathroom. do not freeze this medication. Store solution in a cool, dark place. Discard the solution if it turns brown, cloudy or contains particles. When your pharmacist tells you to stop using this medication, throw away any unused portion. do not save since later use.
