    Azelastine - ophthalmic

    Optivar Usage: this medication is used to treat itching about eyes caused by allergies (allergic conjunctivitis).

    How to use Optivar: this medication is used at affected eyes, usually twice daily; or as directed by your healthcare professional. Remove contact lenses before applying eye drop. Wait at least 10 minutes after using this medication before inserting contact lenses. To apply eye drops, wash you're hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch youre eye or any other surface. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make pouch. Place dropper directly over the eye and instill prescribed number of drops. see downward & gently close you're eye for 1 to two minutes. Place one finger at corner about the eye near nose and apply gentle pressure. this will prevent drug from draining away from the eye. Try not to blink & do not rub eye. don't rinse dropper. Replace the dropper cap after use. If you using other kind of eye drug (e.g., drops or ointments), wait at least five minutes before applying other medications. Use eye drops before eye ointments, to allow eye drops to enter the eye.

    Optivar side effects: Eye irritation or stinging, headaches, or bitter taste in mouth may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your physician promptly. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.

    Optivar Precautions: Tell youre pharmacist your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies). If you wear contact lenses, consult some your doctor about use of contact lenses when the eyes red or irritated. Because your vision may be temporarily blurred or decreased after using this drug, use caution driving or performing activities requiring clear vision. it drug must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. this isnot known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Because about the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using it drug isnot recommended. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Optivar drug interactions: Tell youre physician about all prescription and nonprescription drug you may use, especially of: other eye medications. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.

    Optivar Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Optivar special notes: do not share this medication with others.

    If you missed Optivar dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near clock of next dose, skip the missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

    Optivar Storage: Store dropper bottle upright in room temperature between 36 & 77 degrees F (2 to 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
