Liquid Antacid Usage: this is an antacid that works in stomach to neutralize and reduce acid. Antacids are used to treat an upset stomach caused by heartburn, acid indigestion, or sour stomach; to treat peptic ulcer, hiatal hernia or another conditions caused by an excess about stomach acid; & to prevent ulcers or bleeding from ulcers.
How to use Liquid Antacid: Take this tablet as prescribed. Taking too much about of an antacid can reverse effects & more acid will be secreted. in certain conditions, however, it may be necessary to take antacid as frequently as every 1 to 2 hours. To be effective, chewable tablets must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing followed by full glass of water. Shake liquid forms well before pouring each dose. do not take any other drug within 1 to 2 hours of taking an antacid. since antacids coat stomach, they can prevent other drugs from being absorbed properly if taken at same time.
Liquid Antacid side effects: it drug can cause nausea, loss of appetite, constipation or diarrhea, weakness, or headache. If these symptoms persist or become severe, notify your doctor. Notify you're pharmacist if you notice black, tarry stools while taking this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Liquid Antacid Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional some your medical history, especially of: kidney problems.
Liquid Antacid drug interactions: Tell some your pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription medications you may use, especially of: tetracycline, ferrous sulfate (iron), drugs used for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, indomethacin), digoxin, isoniazid, pseudoephedrine, diazepam, methenamine, ketoconazole. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Liquid Antacid Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, fatigue, weakness, severe nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, drowsiness, slow or shallow breathing, or loss of consciousness.
Liquid Antacid special notes: Refrigerating liquid antacids may improve the taste. do not freeze. If you dislike taste of one antacid, talk to youre doctor or pharmacist about switching to a similar product. liquid antacid forms work faster & more effective than the other forms. However, chewable pills may be more convenient.
If you missed Liquid Antacid dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time since the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Liquid Antacid Storage: Store tablets, capsules and powdered forms at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom. don't freeze liquid forms about this medication.
