Claforan Usage: Cephalosporins are antibiotics used to treat wide variety of bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, skin infections & urinary tract infections.
How to use Claforan: Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. this is done by administering med at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to use this drug until the full prescribed time is finished even if symptoms disappear after some days. Stopping drug too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of infection. Before using, cash the product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use it.
Claforan side effects: An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare attention if it occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: itching, swelling, dizziness, rash, trouble breathing. Report promptly: vomiting, severe stomach cramps, watery or bloody diarrhea, fever, unusual weakness, fast/pounding heartbeat. Unlikely but report promptly: yellowing eyes & skin, persistent sore throat, simple bruising or bleeding, change in amount of urine, seizures. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Claforan Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney problems, liver problems, stomach problems, alcohol usage, allergies (especially allergies to penicillins, cephalosporins or other drugs). Use about this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. since small amounts about the drug appear in breast milk, consult youre physician before breast-feeding.
Claforan drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of all prescription & nonprescription pills you may use, especially of: 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), live vaccines. Certain cephalosporins (your medication belongs to this class of drugs) can interact strongly with alcohol. do not drink alcohol while using it medication & for 72 hours after the last dose has been injected. Consult youre doctor or healthcare professional about the medication prescribed for you & the use of alcohol. this drug may interfere with effectiveness about birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with youre healthcare professional. If you are a diabetic, use Clinistix or TesTape to test for sugar in youre urine. don't use Clinitest tablets because it drug may cause false positive results. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Claforan Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures.
Claforan special notes: Make sure needles, tubing and supplies are stored safely & disposed of properly.
If you missed Claforan dose: If you should miss dose, use it as soon as remembered unless this is almost time for the next dose. If this is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.
Claforan Storage: this drug must be stored properly. Review storage instruction with your physician or doctor. Store dry powder vials at room temperature away from sunlight. check expiration clock before using reconstituted solution.
