Polymyxin Usage: this medication is combination antibiotic used on skin to treat an infection.
How to use Polymyxin: this med is for topical use only. Clean and dry the affected region as directed. than apply a small amount bit of the drug on the skin. thin layer is all that is needed. Cover with a bandage if directed to do so. do not use large amounts, apply this more often or use this for a longer period than directed. you're condition will not clear faster, but chance for side effects may be increased. Use carefully if applying to face. Avoid contact with eyes, nose & mouth.
Polymyxin side effects: it medication can cause burning, redness, or rash. Notify youre doctor if you develop any of these symptoms. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Polymyxin Precautions: Tell youre healthcare professional if you have: other illnesses, an infection, allergies (especially to antibiotics). this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with youre pharmacist. this isn't known if this drug is found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Polymyxin drug interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, including: another skin products. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Polymyxin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Polymyxin special notes: If condition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after few days, notify your pharmacist.
If you missed Polymyxin dose: If you miss dose, apply this as soon as remembered; don't take it if It's near the time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Polymyxin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat. USD expiration date on tube and discard any expired medication.
