Mintuss HD Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. it combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Mintuss HD: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase some your dose or take it more often than directed. it medication is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack.
Mintuss HD side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur 1st some days as your body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Mintuss HD Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of med dependency, any allergies. Mintuss HD drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist about any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain drug (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Mintuss HD Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Mintuss HD special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Mintuss HD dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if Its near time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Mintuss HD Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
