    Carbamide peroxide - otic

    (kar-buh-mide purr-ox-ide)

    E R O Usage: this tablet is used to treat earwax buildup by softening, loosening, & removing earwax.

    How to use E R O: Apply this med into the ear, usually 2 times daily, or as directed by your doctor. do not use this medication for more than 4 days. for accuracy & to avoid contamination, have another person insert the drops if possible. To apply ear drops, wash youre hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch dropper tip or let it touch your ear or any other surface. Lie on your side or tilt affected ear upward. Place the dropper directly over ear & instill recommended, or prescribed amount about drops. To help the drops roll into ear (for adults) hold the earlobe up and back or (for children) hold the earlobe down & back. Keep head tilted for about two minutes or insert soft cotton plug if so directed. If there is any wax remaining after treatment it may be removed by gently rinsing ear with warm water or using a soft rubber bulb ear syringe. Consult youre pharmacist or healthcare professional about the safe use of an ear syringe. don't rinse dropper. Replace the dropper cap after use.

    E R O side effects: Ear drainage, ear pain, irritation or rash in the ear, or dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your healthcare professional. this medication may cause a crackling sound in the ears. this harmless effect is temporary & due to medicine foaming and loosening the earwax. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or physician.

    E R O Precautions: Tell youre physician you're medical history, including: allergies, another ear problems (e.g., perforated or 'broken eardrum', ear infections/injuries/surgeries). Tell youre doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication. It's unknown if it tablet passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    E R O medication interactions: Tell you're pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription med you may use, especially of: other ear medications. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or healthcare professional approval.

    E R O Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    E R O special notes: do not share this tablet with others.

    If you missed E R O dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If this is near time of next dose, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.

    E R O Storage: Store in room temperature between 36 and 86 degrees F (2 to 30 degrees C) away from direct sunlight & excessive heat.
