Warning: Use capreomycin with extreme caution in people with hearing or kidney problems. other injectable medications used to treat tuberculosis (e.g., streptomycin) should not be used with capreomycin because they will add to the hearing and kidney problems that can occur. Use extreme caution when using other medications that also cause hearing or kidney problems (e.g., aminoglycosides).
Capastat Sulfate Usage: it tablet is used in combination with another medications to treat tuberculosis infections.
How to use Capastat Sulfate: this is given by injection into muscle. It's usually given once day for 2 to four months then reduced to two or 3 times a week depending on your condition and response. this is important to receive each dose as scheduled for antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine at your body is kept at a constant level. this may be necessary to continue therapy for tuberculosis for 1 to two years. Stopping therapy too soon may result in ineffective treatment.
Capastat Sulfate side effects: this may cause pain or irritation at the injection site. If it continues or swelling, redness or bleeding occur, inform youre doctor. Notify you're healthcare professional if you experience: ringing at ears, irregular heart beat, change at urination frequency or output, increased thirst, nausea or vomiting, muscle pain, breathing trouble, drowsiness, tiredness, trouble hearing, dizziness, fever, chills, skin rash or itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or physician.
Capastat Sulfate Precautions: Before using this, tell you're doctor if you have: kidney disease, hearing trouble, allergies. it tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with you're physician. It's unknown if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Capastat Sulfate medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of all nonprescription or prescription medication you take particularly: certain antibiotics (aminoglycosides or vancomycin), certain anesthetics. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Capastat Sulfate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include dizziness, sensation that room is spinning, ringing in the ears, & loss of ability to hear high tones.
Capastat Sulfate special notes: Laboratory tests & hearing tests will be done periodically while using this. If needed, you may be switched to drug since this same condition that can be taken by mouth.
If you missed Capastat Sulfate dose: It's important to use each dose as scheduled. If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If Its near the time of the next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. If you miss more than one dose, contact your health care provider to establish a new dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Capastat Sulfate Storage: Store unopened vials at room temperature between 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C). once reconstituted the solution is good for 48 hours at room temperature or 14 days refrigerated. color of reconstituted solution may run from near-colorless to pale-straw tint. Color may darken over time but this does not indicate a loss of potency.
