Amevive Usage: it medication is used to treat moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis.
How to use Amevive: Use this drug exactly as prescribed. this drug is given by intramuscular injection (IM) by healthcare professional one time weekly. all the preparation & administration instructions in product package should be followed. Ask youre healthcare professional or pharmacist if you are unclear on any info. Rotate injection sites. New injections should be given at least one inch from an old site. do not inject into areas of skin that are sore, bruised, red or hard. To prevent foaming of medication, bottle shouldnot be shaken when the dose is prepared. do not use if the liquid contains particles or is discolored or cloudy. Make sure needles and any medical supplies are stored safely & disposed of properly. Use this drug regularly in order to get the most benefit from this. To help you remember, take this on same day each week.
Amevive side effects: Pain, swelling, or bleeding at injection site may occur. Dizziness, throat inflammation, increased cough, nausea, itching, muscle pain, or chills may also occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify you're pharmacist or pharmacist promptly. Tell you're healthcare professional immediately if this highly unlikely but very serious side effect occurs: chest pain. Though very unlikely, you may have slightly increased risk of developing cancer due to this medication. Tell youre doctor immediately if you develop symptoms such as: unusual lumps, swollen glands, skin lesions/spots that are new or change appearance. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop signs of infection while using this drug, such as: fever, chills, persistent sore throat, trouble breathing, painful or frequent urination, unusual vaginal discharge, white patches in mouth (oral thrush). An allergic reaction to this pill is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or healthcare professional.
Amevive Precautions: this drug must not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your pharmacist or healthcare professional if you have: history of cancer, active infections, currently receiving phototherapy. Before using this drug, tell your doctor or pharmacist some your medical history, especially of: recurrent infections (e.g., pneumonia, skin infections), immune system disorders (immunosupression), any allergies. do not have immunizations/vaccinations with out consent about you're physician & avoid contact with people who have recently received oral polio vaccine. this drug may make you dizzy; use caution engaging at activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. it medication must not be used by kid. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the side effects of drug. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre healthcare professional. it isn't known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Breast-feeding is not recommended while using this drug.
Amevive drug interactions: Before using this medication, tell your pharmacist or pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription goods you may use, especially of: drugs that may suppress youre immune system (e.g., cancer chemotherapy, prednisone, cyclosporine), live vaccines. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Amevive Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: chills, headache, or joint pain.
Amevive special notes: do not share this medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., T lymphocyte counts) should be performed periodically to monitor youre progress or check for side effects. Consult your doctor for more details.
If you missed Amevive dose: If you miss dose, contact your physician or pharmacist immediately to establish new dosing schedule.
Amevive Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. once prepared diluted solution should be refrigerated & used within 4 hours. check expiration date on the label & properly discard any unused medication after that time. do not store in bathroom. Keep all medicines away from kid & pets.
