    Sodium fluoride - oral

    (so-dee-um floor-ide)

common brand names: Fluor-A-Day, Karidium, Luride, Pediaflor

Simular Drugs : Nafrinse, Nafrinse, Nafrinse, Nafrinse Pediatric

Nafrinse Pediatric Usage: Sodium fluoride makes teeth more resistant to decay & bacteria that cause cavities. It's used to prevent tooth decay where the drinking water supply contains low levels of fluoride (less than 0.7 ppm).

How to use Nafrinse Pediatric: If you are using the liquid form of this medication, it works best if you do not eat, drink, or rinse your mouth for 30 minutes after taking it. Liquid forms may be taken by mouth undiluted, or mixed with water or juice. Take as directed. If you using the chewable form of this medication, this should be ether chewed or dissolved in the mouth before swallowing (the surface about teeth will absorb the fluoride). best time to use chewables is at bedtime after brushing. If you using the regular med form of fluoride, it may be chewed, swallowed whole, dissolved in water or fruit juice or crushed & sprinkled on food (e.g., applesauce). Use as directed. If nausea occurs, you may take fluoride with food except those foods that contain calcium (e.g., dairy products). Calcium (including milk & dairy products), aluminum, & magnesium-containing products (e.g., certain antacids or laxatives) can decrease the absorption about fluoride, thereby decreasing It's effectiveness. Take fluoride some hours apart from such products/foods.

Nafrinse Pediatric side effects: most poeple can take it drug with minimal or no side effects. Stomach upset, rash or headache may occur. If teeth become mottled or stained, notify your dentist. this is often result of too much fluoride. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.

Nafrinse Pediatric Precautions: this tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.

Nafrinse Pediatric pill interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take. do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or pharmacist approval.

Nafrinse Pediatric Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include increased drooling; nausea; stomach pain; vomiting; diarrhea; muscle weakness; shaking; seizures; paleness of skin; weak, quick heartbeat; shallow, rapid breathing; and extreme thirst.

Nafrinse Pediatric special notes: this is important to keep this and all medications out of the reach of children. Accidental ingestion of large amounts about fluoride can cause nausea, diarrhea & vomiting. Never refer to medicine as candy. check the fluoride content of drinking water at your area by asking local city or town officials. If your water supply changes ask your doctor or dentist if fluoride supplements should be continued. Fluoride supplements used when water contains less then 0.7 ppm.

If you missed Nafrinse Pediatric dose: Take missed dose as soon as you remember; don't take if it is almost time for next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Nafrinse Pediatric Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & heat. do not store in the bathroom. Store liquid form in the original plastic container & not at glass.
