Hydrocodone W Acetaminophen Usage: this med is a combination of narcotic (hydrocodone) & non-narcotic (acetaminophen) used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Hydrocodone works by binding to opioid receptors in brain & spinal cord, and acetaminophen decreases formation about prostaglandins, therefore relieving pain.
Hydrocodone W Acetaminophen canbe used also for: it pill may also be used to suppress a cough.
How to use Hydrocodone W Acetaminophen: Take this medication by mouth, as directed by your pharmacist. You may take it med with or without food. If you have nausea, you may take it drug with food, although doing so may decrease Its effectiveness. Consult you're doctor or pharmacist about alternatives for decreasing nausea (e.g., antihistamines, lying down for 1-2 hours with minimal head movement). the dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. Pain medications work best in relieving pain before it becomes severe. one time pain becomes intense, the medication isnot as effective in relieving it. Use it drug exactly as prescribed. do not increase youre dose, take it more frequently or use it for longer period of time than prescribed because this medication can be habit-forming. Also, if used for an extended period of clock, don't suddenly stop using this med without your doctor's approval. When used for an extended period, this drug may not work as well & may require different dosing. talk with you're physician if this drug stops working well. it med contains acetaminophen. don't take more acetaminophen than recommended (see Side Effects section).
Hydrocodone W Acetaminophen side effects: Nausea, vomiting, constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, flushing, vision changes, or mental/mood changes may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify youre healthcare professional or pharmacist promptly. Tell you're doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: slow/irregular breathing, slow/irregular heartbeat, change in amount of urine. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: impairment or loss about hearing (especially with high doses for long periods). If you do not have liver problems, adult maximum dose about acetaminophen is 4 grams per day (4000 milligrams). If you take more than maximum daily amount, it can cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. Tell you're healthcare professional immediately if you have any of following symptoms about liver damage: severe nausea, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, stomach pain, extreme fatigue. Avoid alcoholic beverages because they may increase the risk of side effects of this drug. this product contains acetaminophen which may cause liver damage. per day use of alcohol, especially when combined with acetaminophen, may increase your risk for liver damage. check with some your doctor or healthcare professional for more information. To minimize dizziness & lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from seated or lying position. Caution is advised when using it pill at the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the side effects of drug, especially the possible decreased breathing & drowsiness effects. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. It's not recommended for use for long periods or in high doses near expected delivery date because of potential since fetal harm. Discuss risks & benefits with youre doctor. Based on information from related meds, this tablet may pass into breast milk. Due to potential risk to the infant, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Hydrocodone W Acetaminophen drug interactions: this drug must not be used with the following medications because very serious interactions may occur: naltrexone. If you currently using any of these medications, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting this medication. Hydrocodone W Acetaminophen Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include: vomiting, slow breathing, slow heartbeat, cold/clammy skin, unusual sweating, loss of consciousness, severe nausea, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, extreme fatigue, stomach pain.
Hydrocodone W Acetaminophen special notes: do not share it med with others. it is against law. it med has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it later for other condition unless told to do so by you're physician. a different drug may be necessary in those cases. To prevent constipation, maintain a diet adequate in fiber, drink plenty of water, and exercise. If you become constipated while using this tablet, consult your physician for help in selecting a laxative (e.g., stimulant-type).
If you missed Hydrocodone W Acetaminophen dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the following dose, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Hydrocodone W Acetaminophen Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
