    Aspirin - oral

    common brand names: Ascriptin, Bufferin, Cama, Easprin, Ecotrin, Empirin

    Warning: children & teenagers shouldn't use aspirin, aspirin- containing or aspirin-related medications since flu symptoms or chickenpox without 1st consulting physician. rare but serious illness known as Reye's syndrome may occur.

    Magnaprin Usage: Aspirin is used to relieve mild to moderate pain, reduce fever, to reduce inflammation & swelling in conditions such as arthritis and is used in low doses as a 'blood thinner' to prevent the formation of blood clots. it is effective in reducing risk of stroke and offers protective effect against heart attacks at men with chest pain.

    How to use Magnaprin: Take by mouth with food or after meals to prevent stomach upset. Take this drug with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless your doctor directs you otherwise. do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it drug. Sustained release, long acting or enteric-coated preparations must be swallowed whole. don't crush or chew them or sustained activity may be destroyed & side effects increased.

    Magnaprin side effects: Stomach upset is most common side effect. Others include heartburn, loss about appetite or dizziness. Notify your doctor if any of these symptoms persist or worsen. Notify your healthcare professional promptly if you develop: persistent ringing in ears, difficulty hearing, dark urine, yellowing eyes, easy bruising, persistent stomach pain, black stools. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.

    Magnaprin Precautions: If you have any of the following health problems, consult you're doctor before using aspirin: liver disease, kidney disease, bleeding disorders, ulcers, stomach/intestinal problems, nasal polyps, gout, asthma, any allergies - especially aspirin/NSAID allergy (e.g., ibuprofen, celecoxib). kid & teenagers must not take aspirin if they have chickenpox, influenza or any undiagnosed illness without 1st consulting doctor about Reye's syndrome, rare but serious illness. If you have congestive heart failure or on sodium- restricted diet, do not take effervescent aspirin tablets or powders because they high in sodium. If you have had oral surgery or you're tonsils removed in the last seven days, do not use chewable aspirin tablets, effervescent aspirin or aspirin in crushed tablets or gargles. this medicine can cause stomach bleeding. per day use of alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. bucks with your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Aspirin is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult you're doctor before taking aspirin. Aspirin is excreted in to breast milk. Though to date there have been no reports about harm to nursing infants, consult you're healthcare professional before breast-feeding. Aspirin that has strong vinegar-like odor is old and should not be used.

    Magnaprin drug interactions: Tell youre physician of every prescription & nonprescription medications you may use, especially: 'blood thinners' (anticoagulants or antiplatelet medications such as warfarin, heparins, NSAIDs), acetazolamide, corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), methotrexate, drug for gout, medication for diabetes. If you have diabetes, regular high-dose use of aspirin may affect test results for urine sugar. Aspirin is an ingredient at many over-the-counter products. To prevent an overdose of aspirin, read the labels carefully before taking other pain relievers or cold products to be sure they do not contain aspirin. Consult your pharmacist if you uncertain youre over-the-counter products contain aspirin. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or healthcare professional approval.

    Magnaprin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, burning pain in throat & stomach, loss of appetite, fever, tremors, confusion, headache, dizziness, weakness, ringing in the ears, fast or slow breathing, agitation, constipation, seizures, fainting, or unconsciousness.

    Magnaprin special notes: there are many different dosage forms for aspirin products. some have special coatings or contain buffers and few are long acting. Ask your doctor or healthcare professional for recommendations on best product for you.

    If you missed Magnaprin dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost clock for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Magnaprin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. don't store in the bathroom.
