Hm Stool Softener Usage: this medication helps fluids to mix with the stool to keep them from becoming hard or dry. It's used to treat constipation.

How to use Hm Stool Softener: Swallow capsules & tablets whole with full glass of water or juice. liquid & syrup forms must be given in 6 to 8 ounces of milk or juice to prevent throat irritation. Relief is usually obtained in 1 to 3 days after 1st dose.

Hm Stool Softener side effects: this tablet can cause stomach ache, cramping or irritated throat (liquid & syrup forms). If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your healthcare professional if you experience: skin rash, rectal bleeding, lack of bowel movements. Frequent use of laxatives can cause dehydration & loss of essential nutrients. Symptoms include muscle cramps, muscle weakness or dizziness. Maintain an adequate fluid intake while using this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.

Hm Stool Softener Precautions: do not take aspirin (unless prescribed by youre doctor) or mineral oil while taking stool softeners. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, do not take over-the-counter stool softeners (or any other nonprescription medication) without obtaining youre doctor's advice.

Hm Stool Softener med interactions: this drug is not recommended for use with mineral oil. Ask your healthcare professional or physician for more details. Tell your physician of all prescription & nonprescription drug you may use, especially aspirin.

Hm Stool Softener Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Hm Stool Softener special notes: Laxatives must only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence. To prevent constipation: drink 4 to 6 glasses of water daily, include bulk or roughage in your diet, & exercise regularly.

If you missed Hm Stool Softener dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost clock for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
