    Iron with ascorbic acid - oral tablets capsules

    Warning: Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is leading cause of death poisoning in children under six years of age. Keep this product out of reach about children. If an accidental overdose does occur, seek immediate medical attention or call a poison control center.

    Simular Drugs : Hematogen, Hematogen Fa, Hematogen Forte

    Hematogen Forte Usage: Iron is an important mineral used by red blood cells to carry oxygen through body. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) improves the absorption of iron from stomach. this medication is used as dietary supplement to prevent or treat iron deficiency anemia.

    How to use Hematogen Forte: it drug is usually taken once day as directed. do not exceed recommended dosage. this medication is best taken on an empty stomach, but may be taken with meals if stomach upset occurs. Take with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless your pharmacist directs you otherwise. do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking this drug.

    Hematogen Forte side effects: most people can take this drug with minimal or no side effects. Stomach upset may occur. Stools may appear darker in color due to iron. do not be alarmed. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Hematogen Forte Precautions: don't take ferrous sulfate (iron) with-out consulting doctor if you have: ulcers, colitis, intestinal disease. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with you're doctor. this medication is excreted into breast milk. Consult some your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Hematogen Forte drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: chloramphenicol, penicillamine, methyldopa, levodopa, cimetidine, quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin). Avoid taking iron at same time as antacids or tetracycline antibiotics. Wait at least two hours between taking iron & an antacid or tetracycline. Eggs and milk decrease iron absorption. Coffee & tea that is drunk with meal or 1 hour after a meal may also decrease iron absorption. Because ferrous sulfate can cause false results in tests since blood in stools, tell the doctor or laboratory personnel that you take ferrous sulfate. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or doctor approval.

    Hematogen Forte Overdose: Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is leading cause about death poisoning in children under 6. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Hematogen Forte special notes: some iron products contain vitamin C which is believed to increase iron absorption. there many iron supplement goods available. some can be purchased without a prescription. Consult your doctor or healthcare professional on choice of product best for you. it med isnot substitute to proper diet. It's important to maintain well balanced diet. Foods rich in iron include beans, nuts, asparagus, oatmeal, red meat, dried peaches, & pork liver.

    If you missed Hematogen Forte dose: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember; don't take if It's almost time for the next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Hematogen Forte Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom. Keep out of the reach of children.
