D G Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dyphylline acts to widen air passages in lungs to make breathing easier. it combination medication is used to relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use D G: Take this med as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase you're dose or take it more often than directed. this medication is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack.
D G side effects: Headache, stomach upset, loss about appetite, nausea, anxiety, irritability or nervousness may occur first several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're pharmacist. Notify some your doctor if you develop: chest pain, fast/irregular heartbeat, rash, vomiting, trouble sleeping, dizziness, flushing, tremors, mental confusion. Notify youre physician if you're breathing difficulty continues or worsens. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
D G Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), HBP, history of ulcers or seizures, glaucoma, any allergies. Smoking can reduce the effects of this medication. Inform your doctor if you smoke before taking this. Limit you're intake of caffeine containing products while taking it tablet as it can increase risk of side effects. Caffeine is found in coffee, tea, cola, cocoa and chocolate. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with you're physician. since small amounts about this med found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
D G drug interactions: Tell some your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take including: blood pressure medicine, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, steroids, thyroid hormones, 'water pills' (diuretics). don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
D G Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, restlessness, irritability, headache, difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, irregular heart rate, sweating, and seizures.
D G special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed D G dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near the clock for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
D G Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
