Colace Usage: this med is used to treat constipation.
How to use Colace: Unwrap suppository & moisten with lukewarm water. Lie down on your left side with the right knee bent (if left-handed, lie on the right side with the left knee bent). Push suppository into the rectum with your finger. do not use more of it drug then directed on the package label or by youre pharmacist. do not use for longer than 1 week unless directed by your doctor. Consult your doctor or physician. Laxatives should only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence.
Colace side effects: Skin irritation or burning around rectum may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Very unlikely but report promptly: blood in stools, persistent urge to empty the bowel, persistent diarrhea. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Colace Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, including: allergies, undiagnosed stomach pain, nausea or vomiting. this tablet should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It's not known if glycerin is excreted into breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Colace med interactions: Tell your pharmacist about every nonprescription & prescription medication you may use, especially of: other laxatives. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Colace Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. If you or someone you know may have taken this medicine by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Colace special notes: do not share this drug with others. To prevent constipation drink 4 to six glasses about water daily, include bulk or roughage in some your diet and exercise regularly.
If you missed Colace dose: Generally, this medication is only used 'as needed'. Consult your healthcare professional for more information.
Colace Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from heat, light & moisture.
