Polycitra Usage: this medication makes urine less acidic. this is used in treatment of certain kidney disorders & gout.
How to use Polycitra: this drug must be diluted in water before drinking to prevent stomach upset. Take the prescribed dose & dilute this in at least 1/2 glass of water. Stir to mix & drink, following with additional water. this is usually taken after meals and at bedtime. do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking this medication. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase youre dose or take this more often without your doctor's approval.
Polycitra side effects: Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fluid retention, convulsions, unusual weakness, mental confusion, tingling or numbness of hands or feet. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Polycitra Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, liver disease, Addison's disease, HBP, a sodium-(salt)restricted diet (this medication contains sodium), allergies (especially drug allergies). it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with you're doctor. since small amounts of this pill are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Polycitra tablet interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, including: lithium, chlorpropamide, methotrexate, aspirin, water tablets, certain heart drugs (e.g., quinidine, digoxin), certain blood pressure tablets (e.g., ACE inhibitors such as lisinopril; angiotensin blockers such as losartan), methenamine, tetracyclines (including doxycycline & minocycline), potassium supplements, azole antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole). do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Polycitra Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include sluggishness, weakness, confusion, irregular heartbeat, or fainting.
Polycitra special notes: While taking this tablet, it may be necessary for you to test pH (acidity) of youre urine using special paper. pH will help determine proper dose.
If you missed Polycitra dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if it is near the time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Polycitra Storage: the liquid may be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator, which will help improve the flavor.
