Decongestant/antihistamine/anticholinergic - oral

Drize R Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and throat & itchy, watery eyes. Anticholinergics have drying effect on mucous secretions. this combination med is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and another respiratory illnesses.

How to use Drize R: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more much times than directed. this medication is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack. Long-acting pills & capsules should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them or long action may be destroyed & the chance of side effects increased.

Drize R side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, blurred vision, constipation or dry mouth, nose & eyes may occur first few days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

Drize R Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: pre-existing kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, any allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. it med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your pharmacist. since small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult your physician before breast-feeding.

Drize R pill interactions: Tell you're physician about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: medication for blood pressure, med for depression such as MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline). Tell your physician if you take medications that cause drowsiness such as: medicine since sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines or tricyclics), anti- seizure tablets (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants. Limit you're intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or pharmacist approval.

Drize R Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, headache, weakness, disorientation, hyperactivity, restlessness, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, fast breathing, fever, hot dry and flushed skin, seizures, or coma.

Drize R special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Drize R dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if It's near clock for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Drize R Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store at the bathroom.
