Warning: Though unlikely to occur, because this product is made from human plasma, it is possible this may contain substances that could cause infections. Notify your physician immediately if you develop early signs of an infection such as persistent sore throat or fever; or yellowing eyes or skin, or dark urine. some about these products may also cause kidney problems. Notify you're doctor immediately if you notice change in amount about urine you discharge.
Cytogam Usage: it med contains antibodies which act against cytomegalovirus (CMV) thus reducing the incidence of CMV disease at persons undergoing kidney transplants.
How to use Cytogam: this medication is administered by infusion into a vein by a health care professional. first dose is given within 3 days of transplant with additional doses at two to 4 week intervals.
Cytogam side effects: Nausea, backache or flushing may occur during infusion. Muscle stiffness, pain and tenderness may occur at site of injection. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience any of these serious side effects: chills, fever, muscle cramps, wheezing, vomiting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or healthcare professional.
Cytogam Precautions: Tell your doctor youre medical history, especially of: previous illnesses, blood disorders, any allergies (including any drug allergies). this medication should be use only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your physician. Its unknown if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Cytogam drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or doctor approval.
Cytogam Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Cytogam special notes: During infusion about this medication, you will be monitored closely for any side effects and dose will be adjusted as necessary. Laboratory tests will be done periodically while using this medication to monitor Its effects and prevent side effects.
If you missed Cytogam dose: Its important that each dose be used as scheduled. If you miss a dose, contact some your healthcare professional who will help establish a new dose schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Cytogam Storage: Begin infusion within 6 hours after reconstitution and complete within 12 hours after reconstitution. USD expiration date on label & properly discard of any unused medication after that time.
