Helixate Fs Usage: Antihemophilic factor is protein in the blood necessary in forming clots to stop bleeding. Persons with hemophilia have low levels of this protein leaving them susceptible to bleeding episodes. this medication is used to temporarily prevent or control bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia.
How to use Helixate Fs: this medication is given by injection into vein. rate of injection depends upon patient response but is generally injected over three to 10 minutes. powder & dissolving fluid should be warmed to room temperature before combining if they were refrigerated. After adding dissolving fluid, swirl vial gently to completely dissolve powder. do not use the mixed solution if you find any floating particles at it or it discolors. the drug should than be started within 1 to 3 hours depending on the product. it may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. the dose & frequency of use of this med will be determined by your condition, weight and situation. Follow your doctor's instructions closely & be sure to ask any questions you may have about this therapy.
Helixate Fs side effects: this drug is generally well tolerated. Mild chills, nausea and irritation at injection site may occur. in the unlikely part you have an allergic reaction to it pill, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Helixate Fs Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: another illnesses, allergies (especially to animal proteins). You should money youre heart rate before & during injection. the dose or rate of infusion may need to be changed if youre heart rate is too fast. it drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with some your doctor. it isnot known if this drug is excreted in to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Helixate Fs tablet interactions: Tell your pharmacist of every over-the-counter & prescription medications you may use. do not start or stop any medicine with out pharmacist or doctor approval.
Helixate Fs Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Helixate Fs special notes: Blood tests will be done frequently to determine dosing & evaluate the effectiveness of this drug.
If you missed Helixate Fs dose: it is important that each dose be used as directed. If you miss dose, contact your pharmacist to establish new dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Helixate Fs Storage: Store med according to manufacturer's instructions. check the expiration date on label & properly discard any unused drug after that time.
