Sodium Citrate & Citric Acid Usage: it drug makes urine less acidic. It's used in treatment of certain kidney disorders & gout.
How to use Sodium Citrate & Citric Acid: this medication must be diluted in water before drinking to prevent stomach upset. Take the prescribed dose and dilute this in at least 1/2 glass about water. Stir to mix & drink, following with additional water. it is usually taken after meals & at bedtime or as directed by your healthcare professional. Take it medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take it more many times without your doctor's approval.
Sodium Citrate & Citric Acid side effects: Notify your doctor if you develop: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fluid retention (water gain), convulsions, unusual weakness, mental confusion, tingling or numbness of the hands or feet. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Sodium Citrate & Citric Acid Precautions: Before using this medicine, tell your pharmacist youre medical history, especially of: kidney or heart disease, liver disease, Addison's disease, hypertension, sodium- restricted diet, allergies (especially drug allergies). this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your pharmacist. Its not known if this tablet is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Sodium Citrate & Citric Acid drug interactions: Tell you're doctor about all prescription & nonprescription drug you may use including: lithium, aspirin and NSAID (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen), heart medicines, methenamine, tetracyclines, chlorpropamide, ephedrine or pseudoephedrine (may be found in many cough-and-cold products), azole antibiotics (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole), every diet medicines. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Sodium Citrate & Citric Acid Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and seizures.
Sodium Citrate & Citric Acid special notes: While taking this drug, it may be necessary for you to test pH (acidity) of some your urine using special paper. the pH will help determine proper dose. do not share this medicine with others.
If you missed Sodium Citrate & Citric Acid dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Sodium Citrate & Citric Acid Storage: the liquid may be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator, which will help improve flavor.
