Bismatrol Usage: this drug is used to treat indigestion, nausea, diarrhea; to relieve stomach cramps and to prevent traveler's diarrhea.
How to use Bismatrol: liquid form of this pill must be shaken well before pouring each dose. Chewable tablets must be chewed thoroughly or dissolved in the mouth. Non-chewable tablets and caplets must be swallowed whole with a glass of water. dose may be repeated every 30 minutes to one hour as needed but no more then 8 doses must be taken in 24 hour period.
Bismatrol side effects: this medication is generally well tolerated. Stools may appear gray-black in color while taking this tablet. don't be alarmed. this will disappear when med is stopped. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Bismatrol Precautions: Tell youre physician if you have: other illnesses, allergies (especially drug allergies). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with you're pharmacist. since small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Bismatrol drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take, including: aspirin, blood thinners, tetracycline antibiotics, drugs for diabetes, meds for gout. don't start or stop any medicine with out doctor or doctor approval.
Bismatrol Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include ringing in ears, dizziness, confusion, & coma.
Bismatrol special notes: If the condition for which it was prescribed does not improve after 2 days or becomes worse or if a fever is present, notify your pharmacist.
If you missed Bismatrol dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if this is near time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Bismatrol Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. liquid may be stored in refrigerator to improve taste, but Its not necessary. do not store at the bathroom.
