Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral
Relacon DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination medication is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Relacon DM: this med is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets and capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed & the chance of side effects will be increased. Take this drug as prescribed. do not increase some your dose or take this more often than directed.
Relacon DM side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your healthcare professional. Notify youre doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Relacon DM Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any med allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your healthcare professional promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. it drug must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with some your healthcare professional. it medication may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Relacon DM drug interactions: Tell your physician of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you use, especially: drug since blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this drug. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Relacon DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss about coordination, unusual movements of the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or quick heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Relacon DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Relacon DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the clock since following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Relacon DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
