Bis Mate Usage: this drug is used to treat indigestion, nausea, diarrhea; to relieve stomach cramps & to prevent traveler's diarrhea.
How to use Bis Mate: liquid form about this med must be shaken well before pouring each dose. Chewable tablets must be chewed thoroughly or dissolved in the mouth. Non-chewable tablets & caplets must be swallowed whole with a glass of water. the dose may be repeated every 30 minutes to one hour as needed but no more than 8 doses should be taken in 24 hour period.
Bis Mate side effects: this drug is generally well tolerated. Stools may appear gray-black in color while taking this medication. do not be alarmed. it will disappear when the drug is stopped. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.
Bis Mate Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: other illnesses, allergies (especially pill allergies). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. for small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Bis Mate medication interactions: Tell you're physician about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: aspirin, blood thinners, tetracycline antibiotics, medications for diabetes, drugs for gout. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or doctor approval.
Bis Mate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include ringing in ears, dizziness, confusion, and coma.
Bis Mate special notes: If condition for which this was prescribed does not improve after 2 days or becomes worse or if fever is present, notify your healthcare professional.
If you missed Bis Mate dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if it is near the time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Bis Mate Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. the liquid may be stored in the refrigerator to improve the taste, but Its not necessary. do not store in bathroom.
