Sodium Chloride Usage: this medication is used to reduce swelling of the cornea in certain eye conditions. it may also be used during eye exams.
How to use Sodium Chloride: Apply this medication to the eye as directed. Apply eye ointment to affected eyes as follows: Wash hands 1-st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the tube tip or let it touch your eye. Rolling the ointment tube in your hands for a minute will make the ointment flow easier. Tilt youre head back, gaze upward & pull down the lower eyelid to make pouch. Place 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ointment into the pouch by squeezing tube gently. Close the eye & roll eyeball in every directions to spread the medication. Try not to blink & do not rub the eye. Wipe the tip of ointment tube with tissue to remove excess med before capping it. If you using an eye drop in addition to this med, apply the eye drops first & wait at least five minutes before applying this eye ointment. If you are using other type of eye ointment, wait at least ten minutes after using this medication before applying it.
Sodium Chloride side effects: Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for period after applying the ointment. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Burning or irritation about eye may occur when first applied. If these symptoms continue or become worse, inform youre doctor. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop: redness/pain/ swelling in or around eyes, vision problems, sensitivity to light, headache. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or pharmacist.
Sodium Chloride Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: other eye problems, allergies. As with any medication, it should be used cautiously during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss risks & benefits with some your doctor.
Sodium Chloride med interactions: Tell your doctor of every over-the-counter or prescription medications you use, especially about: another eye medications. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.
Sodium Chloride Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Sodium Chloride special notes: If the condition since which it was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after a few days, consult your physician.
If you missed Sodium Chloride dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; don't use it if it is near time since the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Sodium Chloride Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. Discard this if the solution turns color, cloudy or contains particles.
