    Naphazoline with pheniramine - ophthalmic

    (nah-fazz-oh-leen with fen-irr-uh-meen, off-thal-mick)

    common brand names: Ak-Con-A, Naphcon-A, Opcon-A

    Opcon Usage: Naphazoline is decongestant and pheniramine is an antihistamine. this combination is used to relieve redness, puffiness, itchy and watering eyes associated with colds, allergies or eye irritations.

    How to use Opcon a: To apply eye drops, wash hands 1-st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or let this touch some your eye. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down lower eyelid to make pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer prescribed number of drops. see downward & gently close youre eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at corner about the eye near nose and apply gentle pressure. this will prevent med from draining away from eye. Try not to blink and don't rub eye. do not rinse dropper. If you are using another kind of eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying other eye medications.

    Opcon a side effects: this medication may temporarily sting your eyes when you first use it. If stinging continues or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor. Vision may be blurred or unstable for a some minutes after applying eye drops. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Inform your doctor if you develop: severe eye pain, headache, redness, itching or swelling in or around the eyes, vision problems. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.

    Opcon Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: eye problems, hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorder, heart disease, asthma, allergies (especially to sulfites). this medication must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss risks and benefits with youre physician.

    Opcon a drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist about any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take, especially: pill for blood pressure, depression. If you using other kind about eye drop, wait in least five minutes before applying another medications. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Opcon Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Opcon a special notes: do not share this product with others.

    If you missed Opcon dose: do not double dose if missed, but use this as soon as remembered. However, if this is almost time since next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your regular dosing schedule.

    Opcon Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture. do not freeze.
