Mytussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. it combination med is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies and another respiratory illnesses.

How to use Mytussin DM: Take it medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase youre dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased.

Mytussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first some days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop any of these effects while taking it medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.

Mytussin DM Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with you're doctor. since small amounts of it medication are found in breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

Mytussin DM drug interactions: Tell some your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). don't start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.

Mytussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, and seizures.

Mytussin DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Mytussin DM dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if it is near clock for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Mytussin DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in the bathroom.
