Guaifenesin/decongestant/narcotic antitussive liquid - oral
Mytussin Dac Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. this combination medication is used to treat a cough and relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Mytussin Dac: this medication is best taken with, or after, meal or snack. Take this drug as prescribed. do not increase youre dose or take it more often than directed.
Mytussin Dac side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur 1st several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or pharmacist.
Mytussin Dac Precautions: Tell you're doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this pill causes you to feel drowsy. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. at least one of ingredients in this combination product is known to be excreted into breast milk. Consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Mytussin Dac drug interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Mytussin Dac Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Mytussin Dac special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Mytussin Dac dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near clock for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Mytussin Dac Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
