Mintab Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination drug is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Mintab: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased.
Mintab side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur 1st several days as you're body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your pharmacist if you develop any about these effects while taking this med: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Mintab Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your physician. for small amounts of this pill found in breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Mintab drug interactions: Tell youre pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Mintab Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, and seizures.
Mintab special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Mintab dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near the clock for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Mintab Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
