Santyl Usage: this med breaks up & helps remove dead skin & tissue to promote healing. It's used to aid healing of burns & skin ulcers.

How to use Santyl: this drug is for use on skin only. To apply, 1st clean area as directed. If an antibiotic ointment is prescribed, apply it following as directed. then, using a wooden spatula for deep wounds or a gauze pad for shallow wounds, apply ointment directly to the affected area & bandage securely. Avoid use near the eyes and be careful not to get ointment outside the affected region. Wash hands thoroughly after applying ointment.

Santyl side effects: this drug is generally well tolerated when used as directed. Redness or irritation may occur to surrounding skin. If it continues or becomes bothersome, inform your physician. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

Santyl Precautions: Tell you're doctor if you have: another illnesses, allergies (especially medication allergies). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks and benefits with youre physician.

Santyl medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, especially of: another skin products. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Santyl Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

Santyl special notes: If condition for which this was prescribed does not appear to improve after few days, notify your health care professional.

If you missed Santyl dose: If you miss dose, apply it as soon as remembered & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Santyl Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) as directed. Keep it & all medication out of the reach of children.
