Maxituss HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. it combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Maxituss HC: Take it medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more often then directed. this medication is best taken with full glass about water after meal or snack.
Maxituss HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur the first some days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or doctor.
Maxituss HC Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of medication dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. dollars this product's ingredient list since phenylpropanolamine (PPA). Consult some your physician promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Maxituss HC medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: blood pressure meds, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain med (e.g., codeine). Limit youre intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Maxituss HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or quick heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Maxituss HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Maxituss HC dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Maxituss HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
