Children's Advil Usage: Ibuprofen is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which relieves pain and swelling (inflammation). this medication is used at kid to reduce fever & to relieve minor aches and pain. it med works by blocking enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, and fever. don't give this tablet to child younger than six months of age unless directed to do so by the pharmacist.
How to use Children's Advil: Shake the bottle well before each dose. Measure out each dose carefully with the dropper provided. Give this med by mouth with food or immediately after a meal as directed. Follow each dose with milk, juice, or formula. Keep children from lying down for at least 30 minutes after taking this drug. the dosage is based on your child's weight, medical condition, and response to therapy. Read the product instructions to find appropriate dose since your child's weight, or consult healthcare professional or physician if you have questions. If repeat doses needed, they usually given six or 8 hours apart; or as directed by healthcare professional. in certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), this may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before the full benefits of this drug take effect. If you are giving it drug to kid for undiagnosed fever or pain, consult the physician immediately if symptoms don't improve within 24 hours, worsen or last for more than 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.
Children's Advil side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, and dizziness may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify pharmacist or pharmacist promptly. Tell doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling of hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing at ears (tinnitus). Tell the physician immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding. Tell the doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change in amount of urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this pill may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from stomach or intestines. If you notice any about next unlikely but very serious side effects, stop giving ibuprofen & consult the doctor or physician immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds. this drug may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any about the following highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop giving ibuprofen and consult the pharmacist or doctor immediately: yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to this medication is unlikely, but seek immeditial healthcare professional attention if it occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact physician or healthcare professional.
Children's Advil Precautions: it drug shouldn't be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult healthcare professional or physician if your child has: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Caution is advised when using this drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects of med, especially stomach bleeding & kidney effects. this pill should be used only when clearly needed during first 6 months of pregnancy. It's not recommended since use during the last 3 months about pregnancy due to the potential for serious fetal harm and interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. it drug passes into breast milk. While they're have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Children's Advil medication interactions: Before using this pill, tell the physician or doctor of all prescription & nonprescription products your kid may use, especially of: alendronate, another meds for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, HBP tablets (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, & beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). check all prescription and nonprescription medicine labels carefully for many contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which are similar to this drug. Ask pharmacist or pharmacist of safe use of those products. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Children's Advil Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.

If you missed Children's Advil dose: If you are prescribed this drug on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') and you miss dose, give it as soon as you remember. If It's near time of following dose, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
