Tussin Cf Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. it combination medication is used to treat cough and relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tussin Cf: this medication is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets and capsules whole. don't crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed.
Tussin Cf side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Tussin Cf Precautions: Tell your physician youre medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult youre physician promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. it pill may be excreted into breast milk. Consult some your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Tussin Cf drug interactions: Tell your doctor of all prescription & nonprescription medications you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit you're intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this tablet. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Tussin Cf Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements about eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Tussin Cf special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Tussin Cf dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Tussin Cf Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
