Drituss DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. it combination medication is used to treat cough associated with common cold, allergies and another respiratory illnesses.

How to use Drituss DM: Take this med as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets should be swallowed whole with full glass about water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed & the chance of side effects will be increased.

Drituss DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the 1'st few days as your body adjusts to the med. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify some your physician if you develop any about these effects while taking this drug: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if it medication makes you feel dizzy. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.

Drituss DM Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially about: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with you're physician. since small amounts about this drug are found in breast milk, consult your physician before breast-feeding.

Drituss DM pill interactions: Tell your physician about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or pharmacist approval.

Drituss DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, and seizures.

Drituss DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Drituss DM dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near the time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Drituss DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store at the bathroom.
